 Post subject: Freeze a process and then resume later

I have came accross a cool utility called CryoPID for linux which can be used to freeze a running process and resume it later on.

CryoPID allows you to capture the state of a running process in Linux and save it to a file. This file can then be used to resume the process later on, either after a reboot or even on another machine.

Once you install/compile this application you get a utility called freeze which can be used to capture the image of the running process in a file.

[email protected]:/tmp# freeze apache 6374

This will create a executable file called apache, which can be executed later on the same machine or on a different machine to resume the process as it was when freezed.
